Obituary:John "Jack" Joseph Schaus, 87, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Jack was born on November 24, 1924 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Norman and Ethel (Koenig) Schaus. He graduated from Memorial High School and Evansville College with an engineering degree. Jack retired from Whirlpool Corporation as an engineer. He then worked for Patterson-Zochonis in Manchester, England and Nigeria. Jack was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and was an active Boy Scout Leader in the 1950's and 1960's.
Jack is survived by: daughter, Patricia Ann Schaus of Evansville, Indiana, son, Michael Walter Schaus (Yota) of Milford, Connecticut, sisters, Margaret Kuhlenschmidt (Don) of Parker Settlement, Indiana, Rosie Beane of Evansville, Indiana, Mary Lou Kunkel (Tom) of Evansville, Indiana, sister-in-law, Tomoko Schaus of Syracuse, New York, and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 64 years, Hannelore Schaus in 2011, brother, Marvin Schaus, sister, Katie Greenwell and brothers-in-law, Godfrey Beane and Bob Greenwell.
A funeral mass will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue Evansville, IN 47711.
Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until service time on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home.
Entombment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
