Bettye Sue (Bowers) Matheney, 79, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center.

She was born on July 20, 1933 to the late Lyndon Vick and Clara (Tudor) Bowers in New Cyress, Kentucky and grew up in Muhlenberg County Kentucky.
Bettye is survived by her husband of 55 years, George Matheney of Evansville, IN; daughters, Pam (Don) Schmitt, Susan Matheney; granddaughters, Olivia Coltharp all of Newburgh, IN and Emily Matheney and her fiance, Jeremy Eastham of Petersburg, IN; brothers, Bob and Joe Bowers.

Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Margaret and brothers, Jim and Bill Bowers.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, July 30, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, Indiana 47711 followed by a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Oak Grove Cemetery in Depoy, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home.
