Obituary:William E. "Bill" Shelton Jr., 76, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at his home.
Bill was born in Clay, Kentucky on July 13, 1935 to William E. Sr., and Velda Lucille (Spence) Shelton. He enjoyed woodworking and four-wheeling. Bill worked for Chrysler Corp. in St. Louis from 1959 until retiring in 1991. After retiring, Bill started Bill's Mowing where he mowed and maintained lawns. He was a member of Salem Church of Darmstadt. Mr. Shelton was a U.S. Army veteran.
Bill is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Mary Ann (Candela) Shelton of Evansville, IN; sisters, Pat (Virgil) Jost of Evansville, IN and Phyllis Grant of Orlando, FL; brother, Tom Shelton of Evansville, IN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Velda Lucille Shelton; father, William E. Shelton Sr., sister, Hazel Jeanette Burress; brothers, Norman G. Shelton and Roger E. Shelton.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Salem Church of Darmstadt with Pastor David Peterson officiating. Burial will be held at Salem Church of Darmstadt Cemetery where Military Rites will be given by the Retired Veterans Memorial Club.
Family and friends may visit from 1:00 pm until 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Salem Church of Darmstadt.
