Name: Clyde Crowder Epley Dates: Birth date: September 26, 1923 Death date: June 8, 2012 Obituary: Clyde Crowder Epley, 88, of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at VNA Charlier Hospice. Clyde was born in Brownsville, Kentucky on September 26, 1923 to the late Lon and Nettie (Hammers) Epley. Clyde retired from Whirpool after 41 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles and the National Thumb Pickers Association. Clyde was also a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon. He enjoyed pool and playing golf. Clyde was a wonderful father and grandfather who will be missed dearly. Clyde is survived by his wife of 67 years, Florence (Evitts) Epley; son, David Epley (Leah) of Mt Vernon, IN; grandchildren, Warren Epley, Michael Epley, Brianna York; great-grandchild, River York and nieces and nephews. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Frances Dennison, Margie Grenda, Hazel Crowe and brother, Otto Adkins. A funeral mass will be held 7:00 PM Monday, June 11, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, Indiana 47711 with Father Ted Tempel officiating. Burial will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until service time on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Vanderburgh Humane Society, P.O.
