<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://browningfuneral.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/84_145654.jpg" alt="Charles S. Clark" />Charles S. Clark, 90, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

Charles was born in Millersburg, Indiana on November 27, 1922 to the late Albert and Nellie (Miller) Clark. He retired from Alcoa after 17 years of service where he was a member of Union #104. Charles was a handyman who enjoyed working on things, he could fix anything.


Charles is survived by his sons, Richard (Debbie) Clark of Bradenton, FL, Michael (Helen) Clark of Centerville, OH, Roger (Chris) Clark of Chandler, IN; daughters, Carole Clark of Evansville, IN, Pam (Mike) Kuhr of Evansville, IN, Sharon (Jim) Mattingly of Evansville, IN; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Charles is preceded in death by wife of 65 years, Viola Joyce (Barr) Clark in 2011, his parents and a brother, William Clark.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, Indiana 47711 with Pastor Joseph Turnbloom officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Newburgh, Indiana where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.

Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home.

Bennie was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on June 10, 1931 to the late Gilbert and Gladys Lee (Scott) Scott.  Bennie owned and operated Scott&#039;s Seamless Guttering, retiring in 1998.  He previously worked for Sears, Wolflin Lumber Company and was a Warrick County school bus driver for 12 years.  Bennie was a Korean War Army Veteran, a member of VFW Post #1114 and a member of The Happy Hookers Bass Club.  He enjoyed going to Florida in the winter, riding horses, camping, woodworking and grilling.

Bennie is survived by:

Wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Schmitt) Scott of Evansville, IN; Daughters, Connie (Bob) Heilman of Evansville, IN and Mary (Pat) Freels of Elberfeld, IN; Sons, Benny (Karen) Scott of Evansville, IN and Greg (Lisa) Scott of Mt. Vernon, IN; Brother, Jerry (Donna) Scott of Evansville, IN; Grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Scott, Annie (Mike) Wilkinson, Megan (Jared) Davis, Casey Freels, Christopher (Allison) Heilman, Brody (Jessica) Scott and Breanne Scott; Great Grandchildren, Tyler Wilkinson and Presley Rose Heilman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bobby Gene Scott.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711 with Father Jason B. Gries officiating.  Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home and from 12:00 noon until service time on Friday at Browning.

Jim was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on November 2, 1943 to the late Marion Ray and Margaret (Basinger) Hester. Jim served in the United States Navy. He is a retired General Baptist Minister and a retired truck driver. He was a longtime member of the Lessing Masonic Lodge, Teamsters, and is a Kentucky Colonel. 

Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Donna Maedean (Minton) Hester; daughters, Kelly Marie Hester, Cathy Raye (Marcus) Arnold, Michaelle Renee&#039; (Terry) Peueler, Merri Margaret (Dennis) Embry; sons, James Allen (Tammi) Hester and James Anthony (Tabby) Hester; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Hester.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN with Rev. Sean Wallace officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park where military rites will be given by the Retired Veterans Memorial Club.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://browningfuneral.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/84_145505.jpg" alt="Dr. David Clinton Jeffries" />Dr. David Clinton Jeffries, 64, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

David was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 22, 1948 to the late Henry C. and Virginia (Blackburn) Jeffries. David graduated from University of Evansville majoring in Business Administration. He then went on to receive his Bachelor&#039;s and Master Degrees from University of Evansville. David also graduated from Indiana College of Mortuary Science. He received his Ph. D. in Education from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, specializing in administration. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Sigma Eta. David was awarded Instructor of the Quarter in the spring of 1997 and the winter of 1998.   

As an educator, David taught for over three decades.  He began his career in the MSD of Mount Vernon, Indiana and later served on the faculty of Harrison College, in Indianapolis, where he was at times a full-time instructor and the director of education.  As a teacher, he exhibited a talent for instilling confidence in his students, and he exhibited great compassion as an advocate for those most at risk.    David is fondly remembered by colleagues and students alike.  He had a great impact and he enriched many lives.  He will be sorely missed, but not forgotten.    

David is survived by his brothers, Henry &quot;Bruce&quot; Jeffries (Linda) of Evansville, IN and William &quot;Clay&quot; (Susan) Jeffries of Evansville, IN; sister, Ellen Zenthofer (Richard); nephews, Juston Zenthofer, Andrew Zenthofer (Nikki), Brian Jeffries (Alejandra), Jon Jeffries, Eli Jeffries; niece, Elizabeth Barnes (T.J.); great nephews, David Madoc Jeffries, Justin Trevino; great nieces, Virginia Jeffries and Annmarie Barnes.

David is preceded in death by parents; and grandparents, Oscar and Dorothy (Johnson) Blackburn and Earnest and Milfred (Dowen) Jeffries.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday June 18, 2013 at Bellefountaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Indiana with Rev. Steve Clayton officiating.

Richard was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 6, 1957. He was a wonderful song writer, guitar player and vocalist. Richard enjoyed watching old western and noir movies. He attended Pentecostal House of Prayer.

Richard is survived by his mother, Joetta (Lane) Grant; brothers, Carlus and Michael Grant; niece, Brooke Grant; and nephew, Sean Grant.

Richard is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Louis Grant in 2001.

Rita most recently worked at Macy&#039;s Department Store in sales for 15 years, she had previously worked in real estate and as a interior designer.  Rita was a member of Sojourn Community Church and Ladies Tea Club.  She was a story teller, people enjoyed listening to her stories.

Rita is survived by her husband of 38 years, Steven Herbert of Evansville, IN; son, Chris Herbert of Evansville, IN; daughter, Wendy (Russell) Johnson of Eddyville, KY; sisters, Jeanette Robertson of FL, Lisa Jackson of Evansville, IN; brother, Rodger Parrott of Fairfield, IL; grandchildren, Savannah, Taylor and Hunter and mother-in-law, Doris Dixon of Evansville, IN.

Pat was born in Thaxted Essex, England on October 24, 1926 to the late Peter and Violet Blanche (Rolls) Portway. She retired from Zenith at the age of 60. Pat had previously worked for Springfield Wire and Koch Label. She was a member of Forever Young Church Group. Pat enjoyed gardening and spending time with her dog, Colby.

She is survived by her daughter, Gayle (Steven) Faass of Newburgh, IN; son, James (Jovita) Daniels of Newburgh, IN; grandchildren, Walter James Daniels, Ashley Stenburg and Christopher Ewing; great grandchildren, Karissa Ewing and Stella Stenburg; great great granddaughter, Maddi Cayhill; loving neighbors. 

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Henry Franklin Daniels; by her parents; and by her brother, James Lesley Portway.

Scooter was born in Evansville, Indiana on October 14, 1981 to Robert D. and Mary H. (Gadd) Tiemann.  He graduated from Memorial High School in 2000.  He was the President of his class for two years, he played on the football team and he was honored by the Rotary Club, where he traveled to Germany as a summer exchange student.  After high school, he went on to study at DePauw University in Greencastle, IN on an academic scholarship and majored in communications and minored in economics.   Scooter was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and studied in England during his sophomore winter term. He also played rugby.  Following graduation, he went to work for Channel 14 News as a Director and volunteered for the Dream Center.  Scooter was employed in the oil industry with Hydrocarbon Acquisitions where he specialized in GIS mapping, title curative and land acquisitions in Pecos, Texas.  He previously worked as a land man for the Mid Central Land Service.  Scooter and Carlee (Schnautz) were married on May 18, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, they arrived home from their honeymoon in Italy a week ago.  Scooter loved movies and music. enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Scooter had a outstanding, witty, contagious personality. He left a impression on everyone he met. Scooter was a hard working, giving and compassionate young man, he will be missed by all who knew him.


Scooter is survived by his wife of 3 weeks, Carlee Sue (Schnautz) Tiemann; parents, Robert D. Tiemann II and Mary H. (Gadd) Tiemann; brother, Charles F. Tiemann and his fiancée, Melissa Braun; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stan and Brenda S. Schnautz; brothers-in-law, Cody Schnautz and his wife, Amber and Nathan Schnautz; niece, Sophie Schnautz.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 17, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 418 N. Wabash Avenue, Evansville, IN with Father Kenneth Herr celebrating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

He worked as a Pipefitter for Local 136. 

Hershell is survived by: daughter, Jacqueline Hargrove; son, Brent James Hargrove; mother, Angelene Hargrove;  step-daughter, Samantha Jo (Ryan) Wagner; sisters, Pamela Jean (Rick) Brown &amp; Debra Ann Hargrove; brother, Eric Lynn Hargrove; grandson, Damian Murr, several nieces &amp; nephews.

Hershell is preceded in death by father, Hershell H. Hargrove Sr.
